Living slowly is a lifestyle I want to promote and be a part of.

To me, it means acknowledging and observing everything I use and why. I use my hands to create, I use my mouth to taste, I use my art to feel. In my opinion it brings me into the present. It makes living more thoughtful. Which in turn, makes my designs more thoughtful.

Peace of the past, hope for the future

Hi, I am Steph.

I have been working in the fashion design industry for over ten years, but I am at a crossroads. I love sculpting pieces with my hands and feeling the fabric within my grasp. But when an item is sent away to be mass produced, especially at an alarmingly fast pace, I feel a loss of connection to my creations.

I sell sustainable fashion and art that promotes a slow lifestyle. The trends that inspire me are pieces that transcend time, and focus on longevity, in look and in quality. To aid in my path to sustainability, I use my scrap fabrics and manipulate them into textile art. Rejuvenating the materials we already have is not necessarily an easy or inexpensive process, but I do enjoy the challenge of creating unique products.

Peace of the past, for me, means: dealing with mistakes, acknowledging truths, sympathizing with all of the multi-layered emotions involved in how we got to this point. Hope for the future, to me, means listening to multiple thought experiments. Realizing there are no right answers, just interesting and plausible thoughts. Hearing from all voices, especially ones that have been suppressed in recent history. Listening to children- no matter what they are talking about- they hold unblurred truths that may teach you a lesson. Continued apologies and sympathies until the receivers are healed. And an openness of creativity and change.
